Pauline Brown Turner

Mrs. Pauline Brown Turner, age 92, of Abingdon, Va., formerly of 310 Tazewell Ave., Richlands, Va., and Falling Waters, W.Va., passed away Thurs., Jan. 15, 2009 in an Abingdon, Va., health care center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Tazewell County and was the daughter of the late John D. and Ruth Monk Brown. She was a former part time beautician and was a faithful church worker and volunteer for over 50 years. She attended Gethsemane Baptist Church in Richlands, Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Fred Turner; five sisters, Ruby McGlothlin, Lucille Barnes, Pearl Barnes, Nora West, and Marie Brown; and five brothers, Clint, Wiley, Earl, Marvin, and John Brown, Jr. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors are: several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Pauline Brown Turner were conducted Sun., Jan. 18, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Va., with the Rev. Stafford Compton officiating. Interment followed. Friends called after 2:00 p.m. Sun. at the mausoleum.
