Lewis F. Wilson Sr.

Lewis Franklin Wilson Sr., 67, of Crockett died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at his residence. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Bell officiating. Interment will be in the West End Cemetery. He was born March 19, 1941, in Rural Retreat, son of the late Maiden L. and Helen Earls Wilson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Cress Wilson of the home; two sons, Lewis Franklin "Frank" Wilson Jr. of Wytheville and Michael "Mike" Luther Wilson of Crockett; two daughters and son-in-law, Tammy Marie Sharitz of Wytheville and Sharon Lynn Crigger and Todd of Sugar Grove; a brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Deborah Wilson of Wytheville; and five grandchildren, Chris Jones, Matthew Crigger, Jessica Crigger, Daniel Brindle and Tyler Wilson. The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 22, from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
