Thomas Asbury Jr.

Thomas Edward Asbury Jr., 67, of Bland died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Bland County Nursing and Rehab Center in Bastian. At his request, he will be cremated. There will be no visitation or funeral service. He was born March 5, 1941, in Bluefield, W.Va., son of the Lydia Bell Hall and Thomas Edward Asbury Sr. He is survived by two daughters, Anita P. Loving of Bland and Sherri Asbury of Wytheville; a brother, George A. "Tuffy" Taylor North Carolina; two granddaughters, Leantha Michele Smith of Roanoke and Shanna Elysse Fulford of Bastian; and three great-granddaughters, Brittany Horsley and Brianna Horsley, both of Roanoke, and Valeska Fulford of Bastian. A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home in White Gate was in charge of the arrangements.
