Emmett Robertson Jr.

Emmett Wesley Robertson Jr., 66, of Boyd Tavern died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at his home. A graveside service with full military honors was held Monday, Jan. 26, at Holly Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Buddy Woodson officiating. He was born Feb. 3, 1942, in Bland County. He was a graduate of Bland County High School Class of 1959. He then entered the U.S. Army in 1960 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1966. After discharge from the Army, he drove for Trailways for 25 years. He worked for Tiger Fuel Co. until he retired. He then started his own business, Robertson's Small Engine Repair, which he operated from his home. Over the years and many miles traveled, many friends were made and have been left behind to remember him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elnora Miller Robertson; a son, Charles Wesley Robertson; a stepdaughter, Nancy Lee Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Clarence R. Thurman Jr. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Anna Lee Robertson; his father, Emmett Wesley Robertson Sr.; stepdaughter, Tammy Johnson of Scottsville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James "Jimmy" D. and Pearl Robertson, Robert E. and Sue Robertson, all of Bland; two sisters, Ruth Robertson of Bluefield and Becky Via of Bland; a stepgrandchild; three nieces, one nephew, two great-nieces and two great-nephews, all of Bland; special little neighbor, Ashley Brooke Carson of Troy; and will be sadly missed by his little four-legged friend, Brownie.
