Adam Litz French, 22, of Scott Depot went home to be with the Lord Feb. 1, 2009. Adam is a 2005 graduate of Winfield High School and was a member of the 2004 Winfield Golf Team State Champions. He is a senior at WVU majoring in business and finance where he is also a member of the Golf Club. Adam is a member of the Good Shepherd Baptist Church and employed by the Pines Country Club in Morgantown. Adam enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He is preceded in death by his father Richard Byron French and grandfathers Zed S. French, Jr. and Charles J. White, Sr. He is survived by his mother Jean W. French; grandmothers Sarah Catherine French of Tazewell, Va., and Nannie P. White of Tazewell, Va.; brothers and sister Richard Byron French, Jr. and wife Mandy of Tazewell, Amy Bower and husband Erik of Scott Depot and William Joseph French and wife Melisa of Griffithsville; nephews Christian and Hunter; best friend Yolanda Rice; aunts and uncles Zed S. French, III and wife Kathy of Stanardsville, Va., Lindsey French of North Tazewell, Sarah Lynne French of Princeton, Mark French and wife Susan of Abingdon, Va., Diana Bragg and husband J.J. of Princeton, Sallie Bowen and husband Rees T. VIII of Maiden Spring, Va., David French of Princeton, Charles J. White of Tazewell and Billy White and wife Jennifer of Bowling Green, Ky. Adam is also survived by cousins and a host of other family and friends. A joint service for Adam Litz French and his father Richard Byron French was at 8:00 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 5, 2009, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Stidham officiating. The family received friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 5, at the church. Burial was at 2:00 p.m. Fri., Feb. 6, 2009, at Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, Va. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the mausoleum chapel on Fri., Feb. 6. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Good Shepherd Baptist Church Building Fund, 15 Scott Lane, Scott Depot, WV 25560. Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Poca, is serving the French family. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.hardingfamilygroup.com.

I am so sorry to hear of this horrible tragedy, I just found out tonight. I can't imagine the pain you are feeling, and there are no words that can explain or comfort you right now.
