William Baise Haga

William Baise Haga, 87, of Abbotts Creek Care and Rehabilitation, formerly of Marion, died Sunday, Feb. 15, at Abbotts Creek, N.C. He was born in Smyth County, Feb. 28, 1921, to Aquilla Jackson Haga and Cora Jane Hash Haga. He was retired from McLean Trucking. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Pansy Haga, who passed away in 1992. Surviving are: one son, William L. Haga Sr. and wife, Phyllis, of Siler City, N.C.; one daughter, Carol Bates and husband, James Sanfred Bates Jr. of Winston-Salem, N.C.; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bud Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Slemp Cemetery, Sugar Grove, at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, conducted by the Rev. Andrew Hill.
