Sylvia Mae Anders Shinault

Sylvia Mae Anders Shinault, 75, of Max Meadows died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at her residence. Funeral service was held Friday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Joe Shinault officiating. Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. She was born Nov. 19, 1933, in Fries, daughter of the late Dwight and Emma Norman Anders. She was a member of St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Leonard Shinault; stepfather, Jasper Vaughn; a sister, Ardith Gravley; two brothers, Kelly Anders and Clynard Anders; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Roxie Shinault. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Steve Groseclose, Trudie and Wade Akers, all of Wytheville; three grandchildren, Misty Shipwash and spouse, Mike, Matthew Akers and Karley Akers, all of Wytheville; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Williams; a stepgreat-grandson, Caleb Shipwash; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Clara Shupe of Hillsville, Faye and Skip Isenhower of Hickory, N.C.; a special sister-in-law and friend, Lula Mae Shinault of Wytheville; and several nieces and nephews. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville was in charge of the arrangements.
