Frederick Keith Sayers

Frederick Keith Sayers, 48, died on Sunday, March 1, 2009 in Marion. He was born in Smyth County on Nov. 27, 1960. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory D. Sayers, and his grandparents, Fred and Minnie Mathena. Survivors include his mother, Nancy Mathena Sayers; one sister, Beverly S. Lee; three daughters, Heather R. Sayers of Marion, Amber D. Mitchell and husband, Johnny, of Troutman, N.C., and Mista N. Hawthorne of Glade Spring; one granddaughter, Cheyanne Mitchell; a special aunt and uncle, Michael and Deidra Mathena of Chilhowie; aunt and uncle, Betty and J.C. Henderson, Hodgensville, Ky.; special nieces, Tara A. Lee and Madelene B. Litton; and special friend, Thelma Rouse. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Sage officiating.
