Ronnie Lee Whited

Mr. Ronnie Lee Whited, age 55, of Swords Creek, Va., passed away Tues., Feb. 24, 2009 in a Richlands, Va., hospital following a sudden illness. He was born in Richlands, Va., and was the son of the late Luther W. and Daisy Plaster Whited. He was a lifelong resident of the Swords Creek, Va., area and was a Service Technician for Bucyrus America. He had worked for S&S Corporation, Ingersal Rand, and Long Airdox. He was a graduate of Honaker High School Class of 1972 and a graduate of SVCC Class of 1977. He was a member of the Fountain of Joy Church in Pounding Mill, Va., and loved to ride his motorcycle. Survivors are: his wife: Tina Marie Lawson Whited; three sons: David Whited and wife, Amanda, of Pounding Mill, Va., Matthew Whited of the home, Ronnie "R.J." Whited of the home; four sisters: Caffie West and husband, Jimmie, of Bristol, Va., Judy Plaster of Midland, Va., Greta Owens and husband, Glen, of Swords Creek, Va., Susie Flanner and husband, Larry, of Tazewell, Va.; three brothers: Doyle Whited and wife, Liz, of Shelby, Ohio, Roland Whited and wife, Pat, of Swords Creek, Va., Larry Whited and wife, Linda, of Swords Creek, Va.; two grandchildren: Sarah Whited and Emily Whited along with several special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Ronnie Lee Whited were conducted Thurs., Feb. 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Va., with the Bishop Thomas McKnight, Pastor Judy McKnight, and Rev. Phillip Cook officiating. Interment followed at the Plaster Family Cemetery in Swords Creek, Va. Nephews served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were: Bobby Mullins, Jimmy Cordle, Roy Lee Joyce, Larry Flanner, Jerry Hale, Jackie Ray, Tim Campbell, Glen Owens.
