Luther C. Shuler

Luther Coleman Shuler, 61, of Wytheville died Monday, March 2, 2009. Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Mack Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Shuler; maternal grandparents, Luther and Pearl Umberger; grandchild, Jackson Shuler; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Claude and Gladys Burress; and paternal grandparents, Stephen and Susan Shuler. Survivors include his best friend of 43 years, Donna Burress Shuler of Wytheville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Brent Williams of Christiansburg, Sherry Shuler and fiancée, Darryl Moser of Christiansburg, Stefanie and Thad Taylor of Rural Retreat; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Kimberley Shuler of Rural Retreat; 15 grandchildren, Benjamin Williams, Grant Williams, Brittle Williams, Shuler Williams, Jody Shuler, Jacob Shuler, Jennah Shuler, Julianna Shuler, Joshua Hyre, Kelli Hyre, Alex Moser, Ryan Moser, Marshall Taylor, Emily Taylor and Elijah Taylor; and former son-in-law, Jeff Hyre of Winchester. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Grubb Funeral Home. Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
