Pamela Sue Buchanan

Pamela Sue Buchanan, 52, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tn. She was Head Start Assistant Director at Mountain Community Action Program, Marion. After her graduation from Rich Valley High School in 1975, she graduated from East Tennessee State University, where she spent some of her happiest years. Survivors include her parents, James Eugene (Gene) Buchanan, Sr. and Maxine Wilson Buchanan of Rich Valley; one sister, Rita Taylor and husband, Michael, of Chilhowie; two brothers, Jim Buchanan and wife, Dawn, and Allen Buchanan and wife, Becky; two nephews, Eric and Jeb; Four nieces, Kasey, Chaypin, Ali, and Chloe whom she loved all very much, all of Rich Valley; Two aunts and uncles, Jean and Bob Gray of Richmond, and Fonnie and Jim Holmes of Roanoke; cousins, Jamie and Josh; and special friends, Hazel Wyatt and Betty Barker of Marion. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 6 in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville.
