Big George. It is very hard for me to write this right now, but I will. You were a good man, co-worker, supervisor, and friend. I have known you for 30 years now and you always keep me laughing at something. I know you are peaceful now and with good friends. I know that Bill Ellen is with you and you two are remembering and telling all kinds of stories. You will be missed my friend.

I was saddened to hear that George had left us. He was a great man and so funny, loved to give everyone a hard time. I knew George for many years as my company purchased than and still does supplies from Arcet. I will always remember the trip to Canada when George, Wayne and a bunch of others went with my husband (Robert) and myself to New Brunswick, Canada on a hunting trip, we all had a great time and George kept everyone laughing all the time. My prayers and thoughts will be with you during your time of loss. We all will have wonderful memories of George and what a great person he was.

I first met George and his son Gerald in "Margarets Kitchen" many years ago and then met Jackie. We all had such good times together. May this sorrowful time allow you to reflect on all of the joy you had.

Big "G"......I cannot put into words how much my heart hurts. I worked with George in Richmond for many years. George was my boss, my co-worker, my friend, my consultant, my funny bone, and sometimes like a father. I will always remember the good times we had together. There were many. To this day, I still quote George on many occasions. {Georgisms} George was a wonderful man and we will all miss him very much. My heart goes out to all of his family....keep the memories.

I am sorry to hear of George's passing. I worked at a competing welding supply firm in Richmond for 10 years and had many conversations with George. He loved to pick on people and make you laugh. Whenever I had to call Arcet, I always made sure that I talked to George, not only was he a lot of fun, but he really knew his stuff. He will be missed.

I was looking for a part time job when I first walked in to Arcet Equipment Company in Richmond VA some 7 years ago. The first person I spoke with was George Hancock. I left that store saying who in the world was that & how can a business have someone like that to be their store manager. I would never work for him. 3 weeks later I was working in Arcet's store room part time. I then understand why George was the man. He was a fun, fair & all around great guy. The stories that he told (If told by anyone else had to be made up, but knowing George probably were not), were stick with me for ever. Richmond, Virginia & the World will not be the same with George not here. You will be missed & remembered.
