Fannie Elizabeth Shelton Alexander, 96, of Max Meadows died Friday, July 24, 2009. Funeral service will be held Sunday, July 26, at 3 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Bays officiating. Interment will be in the Alexander Family Cemetery. She was born Sept. 27, 1912, in Carroll County, daughter of the late George and Neva Hurst Shelton. She was a member of Calvary Christian Church in Martinsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Heath J. Alexander; a daughter, Judy Beth Jones; a son, Alton Heath Alexander; a sister, Nellie Shelton; and a brother, Willie Shelton. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Conrad Olof and Leece Alexander of Max Meadows; a daughter and son-in-law, Iris A. and Loren Brown of Martinsville; two sisters, Emma Shelton of Martinsville and Mamie Daugherty of Wytheville; four grandchildren, Nicholas David Jones, Timothy Eanes, Rodney Alexander and Tony Alexander; seven great-grandchildren, Derek Alexander, Anthony Alexander, Matthew Alexander, Gage Jones, Alyssa Jones, Samantha Eanes and Melody Eanes; and a great-great-grandson, Casen Eli Alexander. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 26, from 2 to 3 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville is in charge of the arrangements.
