Herbert Brown Shepard

Herbert Brown Shepard, 79, of Dover St., Marion, formerly of Ramseur, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at Valley Health Care in Chilhowie. He was a Montgomery County native, was formerly employed with Klopman Mills and Gamwell Inc. and attended Harmony Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John G. Shepard and Villa Blake Shepard. Survivors include a daughter, Dustene Orvik and her husband, Greg, of Marion; son, H. Steven Shepard and friend, Shannon, of Bristol, Tenn.; sister, Louise Goins of Denton; granddaughter, Shelley Hess, and friend, John; and great grandchildren, Jayden Brown Hess and Brianna Leigh Fariss. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, N.C., with the Rev. Frank Thacker officiating. Condolences may be made online at www.timeformemory.com/loflin.
