Jayson Randall Dale Whittaker, 1 month old, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Marion. He was born in Smyth County on June 17, 2009 to Jason and Michelle Barr Whittaker. Survivors include his mother and father, Jason and Michelle Whittaker of Adwolfe; three sisters, Ciera, Hannah and Natalie Whittaker; grandparents, Bonnie "Nanny" Greer of Atkins, Johnny "Papal" Barr of Konnarock, Diana and Randy "Mamaw and Papal" Sawyers of Marion, Larry Whittaker Sr. of Kingsport; great-grandparents, Sue and the late Earl Barr of Konnarock, Eula and Harlan Greer of Marion, the late Ruth and Clay Weaver; his aunts and uncles, Christine Tilson, Timmy Barr, Angela Whittaker, Kim and Jeff Turley, Larry and Gail Whittaker; his great aunts and uncles, Barbara Clark, Nancy Vaughn, Julie Dolinger, Lisa Barr, Billy Barr, Roger Barr, Ricky Barr, Gary Weaver, Charlie Weaver, and Joann Haulsee; several cousins; and other loving family members. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Grove Baptist Church on Walker's Creek Road with the Rev. Donald Wyatt, the Rev. Harlan Greer and the Rev. Tim Greer officiating. Interment will follow in the Barr Family Cemetery in Konnarock. The family received friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
