Billy Joe Whitlock, 77, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Annapolis, Md. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Iva June Whitlock; daughter, Edith Ann Barrett and husband, John, of Stevensville, Md.; and grandson, Ryan Barrett of Stevensville, Md. Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at Henderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Pat Gilbert officiating. Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Rose Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at drhendersonfuneralhome.com D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville was in charge of arrangements.

Dear family of Billy Joe, I had the great pleasure of working with Billy Joe at Food City. I am deeply sorrowed for your loss. I must say, he always made me laugh. We all here at food city have fond memories of him. God bless you and your family.
