Nancy Gravley

Nancy S. Gravley Nancy Shelton Gravley, 73, of Wytheville died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Sammy Shelton officiating. Interment was in West End Cemetery. She was born Jan. 8, 1936, in Wythe County, daughter of the late Lewis M. Sr. and Lettie Matney Shelton. She was a member of Word of Life Ministries. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Gravley; three sisters, Stella S. Bateman, Neta S. Kirby and Eleanor S. Duncan; and two infant brothers, Ray Shelton and William Shelton. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Connie Gravley of Wytheville; a sister, Mabel S. Corvin of Wytheville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis M. Shelton Jr. and Teal of Wytheville, Garland F. Shelton and Arlene of Wytheville, Early J. Shelton and Dorothy of Rural Retreat, William "Billy" T. Shelton and Carol of Wytheville; a granddaughter, Ashley E. Gravley; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to Word of Life Ministries Building Fund, P.O. Box 527, Wytheville, VA 24382. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
