Annette P. Matney Annette Paul Matney, 71, of Bland died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Canup, Glann Lee, Roscoe Crouse and Curtis Crouse officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery. She was a member of the Fort Chiswell Church of Christ. She was retired from General Motors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Louise Brewer Paul; and a son, Anthony Swartz. Survivors include her husband, A.C. Matney of Bland; two daughters and a son-in-law, April and Randy Brough of Greentown, Ind., and Anita Dillow of Bland; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Joe and Debbie Peed of Kokomo, Ind., Ronnie Swartz of Wytheville and Chris Swartz of Lafayette, Ind.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lois Jean Kilgore and Don Barker of Pendleton, Ind., Lena and Roy Palmer of Kokomo, Ind.; a brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Rachel Paul of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
