Conley Arlin Young Conley Arlin Young, age 70 of Tazewell, VA, died Mon., Aug. 10, 2009 at the home of his son in Troutville, VA. Born July 26, 1939 at Nebo, VA, he was a son of the late Sheridan William and Lola Mae Thompson Young. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran. Mr. Young was an avid automobile enthusiast and restorer. He especially loved restoring several of his beloved Fords. He participated in local auto shows and also was an avid fan of Tazewell High School football and wrestling. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Young and David Young; one sister, Dorothy Young Northcutt. Survivors include his wife, Karin Young; three sons, Gary "Hoss" Young and wife, Rhonda, of Troutville, VA, Glenn Young and wife, Stephanie, of Bluefield, WV, and Deacon Young and wife, Debbie, of Tazewell, VA; two daughters, Robbie Young and Charity McDaniel both of Tazewell, VA; two brothers, Wayne Young of Jonesboro, TN and Roger Young of Springville, VA; three sisters, Loretta Buchanan of Reading, OH, Vivian Meade of Tazewell, VA, and Martha Perdue of Tazewell, VA; ten grandchildren, Brandon McDaniel, Eric McDaniel, Jeremy Young, Megan Young, Darrah Young, Jarred Young, Derrick Young, Justin Young, Lake Young, and Leif Young; numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Fri., Aug. 14, 2009 at the Young Family Cemetery at Nebo, VA in Smyth County with the Rev. Lawrence Hayes officiating. Military graveside rites were conducted by members of the VFW Post of Marion, VA. Pallbearers were Brandon McDaniel, Eric McDaniel, Mark Young, Tim Young, Mike Young, and G.K. Kitts. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, Jeremy, Jarred, Derrick, Justin, Lake and Leif Young. The family received friends at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA from 6-9 p.m. Thurs., Aug. 13, 2009.
