Gaynell Stoots

Gaynell W. Stoots Gaynell Ellen Weatherman Stoots of Ivanhoe died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009. Funeral service was held Thursday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Blevins officiating. Interment was held Friday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery. She was born in Wythe County, daughter of the late Miles and Mary White Weatherman. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Danny Stoneman; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Haswell "Bud" Stoots of the home; four children, Judy Stoneman of Chester, Brenda Stoneman of Winston-Salem, N.C., Patsy and Jessie Mills of Ivanhoe and Terry Stoneman of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Frances Baker of Wytheville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Charlotte Duncan, 111 Rakestown Rd., Ivanhoe, VA 24350. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville was in charge of the arrangements.
