Eula P. VanHoy

VanHoy Eula Plummer VanHoy, 89, of Marion, a resident of Francis Marion Manor, died Sunday, Sept. 6, at the center. She was born March 22, 1920 in Volney to the late Vester and Ola Perkins Plummer. She is survived by her husband, Andy Gilbert VanHoy of Marion; one daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Denver Osborne of Marion; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Lily VanHoy of Grassy Creek, N.C., Ronald and Donna VanHoy and Charles and Pat VanHoy, all of Marion, and Jim and Brenda VanHoy of Dobson, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Hoppy and Linda Hopkins. The funeral service was conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, with the Rev. Douglas Halsey and the Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. The family received friends prior to the service. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Piney Creek Cemetery, Piney Creek, N.C. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, is in charge of arrangements.
