Earnest Dwight O. Earnest, 84, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009 in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Bessie Earnest, two brothers, Rudolph and Darrell Earnest, and one sister, Sybil Evans. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Hamm Earnest of Port Charlotte, Fla.; one sister, Loveita Hamm of Middletown, Del.; nieces and nephews, David Earnest, Darlene Earnest, Linda Wilkinson, Karen Buck, Sandra Pedrick, Susan Goldner, Joan Stine, Dawn Srazier, Dale Walker, Dianne Hudgins, Jimmy Evans and Dave Evans. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Sept.17, at 2 p.m. at Elizabeth United Methodist Church, Teas, with the Rev. Mike Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Lawn Cemetery, Sugar Grove, where military rites will be conducted by Marion VFW Post 4667.
