Gerald M. McPeak Gerald Mason McPeak, 72, of Foster Falls died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, at his home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Betsy King officiating. Interment will be in the Foster Falls Cemetery. He was born Aug. 6, 1937, in Wytheville, son of the late Granville T. and Willie Riggins McPeak. He was retired from Shelor General Contracting. He was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He loved farming. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith "Judy" Patterson McPeak; and two sisters, Barbara McPeak and Veda Payne. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald A. "Jerry" and Kathy McPeak of Max Meadows; a daughter, Teresa "Teri" M. Mabry of Max Meadows; two grandchildren, Lacey Nicole Sayers and Kori Dawn Mabry; a sister, Shirley M. Collins of Hillsville; and special friends and family members, Cecil Mabry of Foster Falls, Ruth Harrison of Austinville and Wayne Billings of Max Meadows. The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorial donations to Trinity United Methodist Church. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville is in charge of the arrangements.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Gerald Mc Peak as we each respond to this season of shock and loss. The Lead Mines Charge has lost a veteran soldier of the faith. May God bring waves of comfort to fill that void.
