Olive Kirby Obituary

Kirby Olive "Ike" Foster Kirby, 95, died Sept. 15, 2009. She was born on Nov. 24, 1913, in Fulton County, Penn., the daughter of Edison and Annie Foster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Kirby, and two sons, Jack Kirby and John Kirby. Survivors include her daughter, Jane Kirby Willis; son-in-law, John Willis; daughter-in-law, Janet Kirby; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Marion Art League. She had a great love of sewing and other needle arts. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Teague officiating. Burial followed in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
