Emma Shelton Emma Shelton, 95, of the Blue Ridge Rehab Center died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009. A graveside service was held Friday, Sept. 18, at 3 p.m. at the Charity Primitive Baptist Church with Pastor David Bays officiating. She was born July 22, 1914, in Patrick County, daughter of the late George and Neva Hurst Shelton. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nellie Shelton and Fannie Alexander; and a brother, Willie Shelton. Survivors include a sister, Mamie Daugherty of Wytheville; a sister-in-law, Glenia Shelton of Max Meadows; three nieces, Iris Brown and husband, Loren, of Martinsville, Peggy Smith and husband, Roy, of Florida, Debbie Wood and Steve of West Virginia; a nephew, Conrad Alexander and wife, Leece, of Max Meadows; six great-nieces and great-nephews; seven great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and one great-great-great-nephew. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville was in charge of the arrangements.
