Meredith Bounds Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
BOUNDS, Meredith MEREDITH FISHER BOUNDS Meredith Fisher Bounds, age 17 months, died of congestive heart failure on April 2, 2008, in the Sibley Heart Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Meredith was born in Roswell, GA on October 27, 2006 and was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy at the age of three weeks. Until very recently, Meredith was a lively and happy toddler who enjoyed visiting family, playing with her young friends and brother Wyatt, and riding in the stroller through her neighborhood. She was especially fond of dogs. Meredith was a beautiful little girl who was dearly loved by all who knew her. She will always be alive in the hearts of her family members who are comforted by the knowledge that she is now at peace in the hands of our Lord. Meredith is survived by her parents Joseph Alexander (Alec) and Alison Steeble Bounds and her brother Joseph Wyatt, who reside in Roswell, GA. She is also survived by her grandparents, the Honorable and Mrs. Joseph Phillips Bounds of Roanoke, VA, and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Fisher Steeble of Summerville, SC; her great grandmother Mrs. Edwin Paist Steeble of Southampton, PA; and her aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Mr. Edwin Steeble of Queenstown, MD, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond (Ashleigh Bounds) Loewy of Brooklyn, NY and their children Nathan and Harper, and Mr. and Mrs. Scott (Amanda Bounds) Leffel of Roanoke, VA and their son Stockton. The funeral will take place at 11 am on Monday, April 7 at St. David's Episcopal Church, 1015 Old Roswell Road, Roswell, GA. Interment of the cremains will occur at St. John's Episcopal Church, Roanoke, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Meredith's name to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, 1687 Tullie Circle NE, Atlanta, GA 30329 Attn: Gift Processing or www.choa.org. Gifts may also be presented in her honor to Happy Tails Pet Therapy, PO Box 767961, Roswell, GA or www.happytailspets.org. Hi there. My name is Bailey, & I work at Roswell Pediatric center where Meredith was a patient. I just wanted to say that Meredith was one of the patients that i remember so vividly, she was absolutely beautiful. It's hard to remember every patient, but Meredith for some reason stuck out in my mine. I will be keeping her family in my prayers and thoughts.

My name is Amy and I was her nurse. My son Liam's only a few weeks older than her and I thought of tha each time I saw her family. I still think of meredith often and miss her smile. I hope her family knows that. I miss her, too.

I did not know Meredith or her family. I saw Meredith's obituary notice and she touched my heart. She is a beautiful little girl. I pray for strength for her family to get through the loss of their little sweetheart.

Although I don't know your family personally, I was very, very sorry to learn of the passing of your little girl. Unfortunately, I also have experienced the loss of a child. (My daughter passed at 19 months old @ 4 years ago.) It's been a difficult process, but I managed to "survive" with God's help and the prayers of other people. You and your family can also get through this. Even though your little girl and my little girl may not be here physically on earth, I believe that they are very much alive and well in heaven, and we can see them again one day. (I will make a donation to Children's Healthcare in honor of your daughter.)

Alison.....I met you a couple of times through Lisa Ryan. On the most recent occasion, I met Meredith as well ( at the Paintings and Polka Dots get together for Lisa). I was struck by what a beautiful little girl she was and was so sorry when Lisa told me of your loss. I truly pray you will find comfort and peace in your precious memories of Meredith. I never knew Meredith or her family but when I saw her obituary, I cried.
Meredith definitely was an angel on earth. She was a gift from heaven and a treasure. Because she was too young to know she was so sick, every healthy day on this earth for her was one of happiness, love and joy, and for this her family can be eternally thankful.
