I still think about Doug and miss his sense of fun, love of cooking and camaraderie. Our little SRP group had a lot of fun times.

Doug was such a great guy that though I haven't seen him since 10th grade at Dowagiac High, I will always remember his kindness, exuberance for life, and, of course, his great, perfect smile. Lyla Overton Fox

Doug was my former brother-in-law. He was a good guy and he liked to have fun. I am very saddened by his passing as he was a kind and generous spirit who loved life. He called me “horsehead” for most of the time I knew him, but I cannot remember how I earned this title. He was devoted to the Tempe Boys and Girls Club and spent many hours working for their cause. He was president of that club as well. He was a gourmet foodie and partier. He has two wonderful daughters, Christine and Karen, who have devotedly watched over him during his illness the past 14 years. You are missed, Doug.

Doug was a remarkable person and the accounting guru at SRP. But as we all know he was much more than a 'number cruncher'. He was our party master, fearless gourmet chef and cool dude with his Corvette. I have missed him and will never forget his friendship. He was also blessed with two wonderful daughters who provided loving care to Doug during his illness. He was a very lucky man to have you by his side.

I worked in Accounting at SRP with Doug for many years. I also lived in the original Ahwatukee when Doug and his family lived there. I have many memories of Doug. I admired his drive and 'smarts' in Accounting...he was instrumental in developing many of SRP's Financial Systems. My sympathies to his two daughters and his extended family.

This is such a great picture of Doug--just the way we remember him. Will never forget the 10Ks he and Chris were in years ago when our girls were all young and the Telluride ski trip--there were many good times! God bless Christine and Karen as they say their last "goodbyes" to their Dad and may he rest in peace now.

So terribly saddened to hear of Doug's passing. He was a good person to work with and provided me with many learning opportunities while he was my manager. I missed him great deal after he left SRP due to illness. And yes, I remember how much he loved "culinary delights". Finally at peace. Sincere condolences, Dawn Allen (Accounting Systems, Salt River Project)
