Josie Garcia Obituary

Garcia, Josie Toni
57 went home to be with our Lord on May 5, 2011. She served with honor in the United States Air Force from 1976-1980. She was an electronics assembler from age 18 until her untimely death from liver disease. She was an avid crochet master who loved to shower friends and family with her extraordinary gifts. Josie is survived by her mother Mary C. Gortarez, father Manuel E. Gortarez, brother Manuel E. Gortarez II, and her four sisters: Tina Solano, Helen Gortarez, Gina Escobedo, Bobbi Gortarez as well as her three daughters: Lisa Rodriguez, Riqui Garcia and Alexus Garcia and two grandchildren Tyler Cockrill and Gabriella Rodriguez. On May 20, 2011 a memorial service will be held at 12:30pm at New Life Community Church 8155 W. Thunderbird Rd Peoria Az. Immediately following the service Josie will be laid to rest at National Memorial Cemetery 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd Phoenix, Az

I served with Toni at Grand Forks AFB. We were good friends and roommates for a while. She treated me like her son. I am heartbroken to learn that she has passed away. She introduced me to Catholicism at St.Michael's in Grand Forks. God bless her children and family.

To all the Gortarez Family "My thoughts and prayers are with you all," we know at this time we have lost our sister our mother our friend but we know that this is only for a moment, we too will depart from this world and be with her one day, were we no longer will suffer the pains and aches of this world. I had the honor to speak with josie about a month before she left us and we laughed and cried about old times.
