Kropp, George August
George A. Kropp, 86, passed on May 27th at Summerfield Assisted Living in Tempe. While residing in Arizona since 1974 (most of those years in Sun Lakes), George was born in Lake Zurich, IL, August 29, 1924, and was proud of the uncomplicated early years of life on a farm which set the pattern for his life. Later studies prepared him for a career in cost accounting in various locations in the United States including employment with Johns Manville and the U. S. Army. Well into retirement, George was an excellent bowler and soft ball player. He
was also known by family, friends and acquaintances as a diehard Cub fan. George is survived by his former wife Patricia Karsten (Arizona), stepchildren Steven Niemeyer (Oregon) and Janet (Charles) SanFilippo (Alabama), 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 3 nieces. George was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Louise Kropp, a brother, Carl Kropp, and 2 sisters, Lillie Dahlquist and Gladys Fish.
