Marjorie Ano Obituary

Marjorie A. Ano 1934 - 2008 DALTON Marjorie A. Ano, 74, of Sugar Hill, 45 Main Street, died Friday, Oct. 17, at her home. Born in Pittsfield, February 27, 1934, a daughter of Elmer and Lillian Gagne Evans, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School. A longtime resident of Dalton, Mrs. Ano was the caterer for the Benjamin F. Sullivan Post 155 of the Dalton American Legion and was also a member of its Ladies Auxiliary. She retired in 1990 after twenty years. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church and a member of its Rosary Society.She enjoyed traveling and knitting. Her husband, Richard J. Ano, whom she married August 9, 1952 in Notre Dame Church, died April 11, 2000. Mrs. Ano leaves son, David R. Ano of Virginia Beach, Va.; three daughters, Vicky A. Wilbur of Hellertown, Pa.; Patricia M. Kirouac of Goshen, Massachusetts, and Christine M. Cousins of Chuluota, Florida; a sister, Joan Giardina of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Marjorie A. Ano, who died Friday, Oct. 17, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 10 a.m., at St. Agnes Church, celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Ano may be made to Dalton Ambulance and Rescue in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 Main Street, Dalton.
