William Shea Obituary

William J. Shea Jr. 1946 - 2009 LENOX William J. Shea Jr., 63, of 23 Pine Knoll Road, native of Dalton, died unexpectedly late Thursday afternoon of a heart attack. Born on Aug. 19, 1946, son of the late William J. Shea Sr. and the late Jean E. Merriam Shea. A 1964 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School, William enlisted in the navy in 1965 and served for four years as an aviation technician in Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. Upon completion of his military service, he attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1977. At the time of his death he was employed by AGI Polymatrix/ Mead West Vaco. Bill leaves his wife of 42 years, Linda Bordeau Shea, whom he married Nov. 4th, 1967, he also leaves two daughters, Jessica Lynn Shea of Lexington, Mass., and Jacqueline Marie Shea of Lenox, Mass., and future son-in-law, Barrett Alston of Lexington, Mass. Additionally he leaves three sisters, Jeanne Conroy of Dalton, Mass., Barbara Velez of Plympton, Mass., and Kathi D'Amato of Lee, Mass.; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Bill had a zest for life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was well respected and loved by all whose lives he touched and he will be greatly missed. FUNERAL NOTICE: The family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Roche Funeral Home in Lenox with a funeral mass on Monday, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul church in Lenox Dale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
