Shirley Kenney Obituary

PITTSFIELD -- Shirley J. Kenney, 78, of 27205 Jones Loop Road, Punta Gorda, Fla., a former longtime Berkshire County resident, died Sept. 7 at home.

Born in North Adams on Nov. 27, 1928, daughter of Peter and Alice Favreau Granger, she attended Drury High School. She moved to Florida in 1996 from Pittsfield.

Mrs. Kenney was a homemaker.

She enjoyed walking, swimming and doing jigsaw puzzles.

She and her husband, James Kenney, were married 56 years.

Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Curtis Kenney of Pittsfield and Craig Kenney of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Christine Anderson of Fort Worth; a brother, Randy Granger of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a sister, Margie Dupuis of Boylston; and six grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside memorial service for Shirley J. Kenney, who died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238. Mrs. Kenney also leaves two daughters-in-law, Gail (Curtis) and Shelly (Craig); a son-in-law, Dean Anderson; and six grandchildren, Tricia Roesch, William, Ryan and Melissa Kenney, and Nicole and Katie Anderson.
