William Dalmaso Obituary

HANCOCK -- William Edward Dalmaso, 68, of 2145 Hancock Road, died yesterday at home.

Born in North Adams on May 20, 1939, son of the late William E. and Marie Dumas Dalmaso, he attended local schools.

Mr. Dalmaso was last employed by Williams College for 23 years, retiring in 2004. Previously he had worked at the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co.

He was a member of the Second Congregational Church in South Williamstown. He enjoyed traveling and working on jigsaw puzzles.

Mr. Dalmaso leaves his wife, the former Florence "Polly" O'Neill, whom he married May 20, 1989 in Hancock.

Besides his wife, he leaves three stepchildren, Dennis Roberts of Schodack, N.Y., John Roberts of Hancok and Julie Williams of Hancock; a sister, Agnes Diamond of North Adams; five stepgrandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral to celebrate the life of William Dalmaso, who died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Second Congregational Church in South Williamstown with the Rev. Penny Rich Smith, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Hancock Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 5 to 8 p.m. at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA-Hospice of North Berkshire or to Hancock Volunteer Fire Dept., in care of the funeral home. Survivors include a stepdaughters-in-law, Catherine Roberts and Jane Roberts; a stepson-in-law, Arthur Williams; and five stepgrandchildren, Keith Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Michael Williams, Sarah Williams, and Jamieson Williams; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Brandon Roberts, Luke Roberts, and Haley Williams; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Dalmaso; and nephew, Clayton Dalmaso, both of North Adams. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Dalmaso.
