Dear Florence and family,

Let us start by extending our heartfelt sympathy to everyone. We know what a long hard road it has been for everyone, and now it is time to find comfort knowing that Gunnar is at peace.

He left a mark on our corner of the world that will long be remembered. He left long lasting impressions. To this day, most of Dick's work ethic is due to the years that he and Gunnar shared together on the Water Department back in the day when it was just a two man crew. For myself, I will always be grateful for the opportunity that Gunnar gave me when he hired me to manage the Light & Water Dept. But it didn't end there because he continued to support me in my endeavors for many years that would follow.

But work was only a part of it for both of us, it was much more personal. We grew up with the family, we attended your 50th wedding anniversary at Hedding, and until last fall we often would see Gunnar around town or walking in the neighborhood and he would always make the time to stop and talk with us. More recently we would have a chance to talk with him when Scott took him out for walks or a drive.

We will always remember Gunnar for his stories, the blueberries and pussywillows he would bring by the office, his devotion to his family, his church, and just what a proud man he was.

There are so many more ways that we remember Gunnar and will always cherish those memories.

May God bless you all during this difficult time.

Dear Florence & Family:

Our sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Gunnar was a 1st class individual and we both send our very sincere feelings. I will always remember working with Gunnar when I (Mary Ann) worked for the Merrimac Light & Water Dept. and we both always thought well of him.

Our thoughts are with you all.

Sincerely,

The Dwyers

We are sad to hear of Mr. Sande's passing here at Hedding. We always enjoyed seeing him riding his bicycle off to the Blueberry Patch, with his buckets ready to be filled. He will always be remembered here.

To the Sande Family,
I am truly saddened by the news of the passing of Gunnar. He truly was a man that I had the utmost respect for. He had a great sense of humor and always welcomed us whenever we visited Hedding in the summer. He will truly be missed. God bless the men of the greatest generation for their service to the USA and to their families for lending them to us.
