John Agretelis Obituary

Of Somerville, March 30. Beloved husband of Anna (Nisotakis) Agretelis. Devoted father of Despina Makredes and her husband Charlie, and Nicholas S. Agretelis and his wife Joan. Loving grandfather of Maryanne Makredes, Calliope Finocchiaro and her husband Mark, Joanne Makredes, Steven and Katerina Agretelis. Cherished great grandfather of Charlie Finocchiaro. Son of the late Peter and Despina (Babalas) Agretelis. Brother of Mercine Wilhelm, Athena Calakoutis and her husband Christos and the late Victoria Cosmopoulos and Peter Agris. Brother in law of Ann Agris. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 14 Magazine Street, Cambridge, Tuesday 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:OO AM. Late member of the George K. Menichios Post # 324. WW II Army Veteran. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the above named church in John's Memory. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to the Babalas & Demarkles Funeral Home, Cambridge.

I was so sad to hear of John's passing. I will miss his wonderful sunny optimisim. The incredible pleasure his family brought him, especially his grandchildren, was evident whenever I spoke with him. I do feel privileged to have known John.

I am so saddened by the news of Mr Agretelis' passing. I will remeber him for his strong character and fierce will to live life to it's fullest. He was a pleasure to care for in these past three years. It was a priviledge to work with his loving family and I extend my deepest sympathy to them all. I know he is in a place without pain or suffereing and is at peace.
