Of Lexington, March 31, 2008. Father of Robert G. Valin and his wife Patricia of Burke, VA, Lorene E. D'Angelo and her husband Sean of Belmont, Steven P. Valin and his wife Kara of Burlington, Elaine J. Valin and her husband William Metzger of Hudson, NH, and Jeffrey T. Valin and his wife Karen of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Brother of Jean Shields of Erie, PA. Dr. Valin is also survived by 9 grandchildren and a niece, Brenda Schields of Columbus, OH. Practicing Neurosurgeon in the Boston area for many years. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, April 3 at St. Brigid Church, 2001 Mass. Ave. in Lexington at 10 AM. Relatives & friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON Thursday prior to Mass from 8:30-9:45 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Wayside Hospice, Miriam Boyd Parlin Residence, 10 Green Way, Wayland, 01778. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. We can only hope that you remember the times that you all shared together. It's always a difficult time when you lose somebody you love. Will always remember the days spent with Bob in Surgery. Had many many good times. I really miss taking care of his neuro instrament, keeping them sharp and in excellent working order. Its been over 40 years since I saw him last but he has been my thoughts while overseas in neurosurgery OR,remember all he taught me and will never forget.
Please accept my deepest sympathy.
