While I knew Mr. Perry for only a relatively short time, I too can echo prior thoughts expressed here that he was a great family man. While growing up in Concord with Bruce and spending a lot of time at their house, I got to see firsthand the strong influence he had on his family. In particular, I remember that he was very good at recognizing when Bruce and I were up to no good and making sure that we kept out of trouble. Sad to say we did not always welcome his guidance but we always knew he cared and he helped us learn right from wrong. I am not surprised to hear that he helped others later on resolve certain consumer issues as he was very wise in his decesion making and people listened to him. I am very happy that he got to spend so much quality time with his friends and loving family in retirement. We will all miss you Mr. Perry.

Like my brother Kevin, I also knew Mr. Perry as the father of my friend who lived two doors down the block. When I was young I was only aware of seeing Mr. Perry come and go around the neighborhood. But as an adult I got to know him and appreciate his intelligence and the diversity of his interests. While I never got to know him well I have great admiration for the man who raised my good friend Bruce and his sister Jane and brother Jim. Also, let's face it, all those years of successful marriage are a wonderful accomplishment and a true gift to his family.

Growing up in Concord, Mass. two doors down from the Perry's, I only knew Mr. Perry as my good friend's Dad. In later years, I got to know Mr. Perry (I have a hard time calling him Bob, Robert) on a different level and got to appreciate his warmth and gracious personality as I became an adult. Now that I'm a Father, I can appreciate the challenges and rewards of raising children and respect people like Mr. Perry for being a wonderful Dad, friend and husband who has left this world a better place than when he came here. My family sends our condolences to the Perry family, but we know that Mr. Perry will be fondly remembered.
