Dear John,
my brother just told me this Thanksgiving he'd seen Ed's obit in the Globe. There are so many memories of him and none leave me feeling empty --which I'm sure is paradoxical, since it should be a loss when such a bright star becomes a Supernova, then enters the mysterious Black Hole of the invisible.
He once said he was getting tired of always having to be the Life of the Party (that was before he met you!) --now, wherever he is, which I feel is somewhere close, there is an eternal life of the party sticking us all in the ribs, the living and the dead, and his friends who passed before have convinced him to hang around nirvana a bit longer before reincarnating!

I am filled with sadness and great memories one and at the same time. My most immediate memory is of building sand castles on sagamore beach while sipping Tequilla. We had such fun! Then living together in Sandwich Ed would whip me up a dress in an hour for an event. I held on to those dresses for years. Over the years we lost some contact but I always saw him at Harvard Community Health Plan where he got his healthcare and I worked. We very recently had a long phone call where he filled me in on his last year or so of his life which sounded very very tough . As was Eddie's way he did not want me to feel too badly and his humor still came roaring through. He was a warm talented loving gentle soul who will be deeply missed by me and countless others his too short life touched many.
