We worked together for 4 1/2 years and it was a friendship from the beginning. The night before you passed that last conversation stays in my head...always looking out for me. I pass by often always saying hello never goodbye. I still cry when people talk about you. Keep blessing us. Until we meet again.....I LOVE YOU:)

My Goodness. This picture shows me and you less than three weeks before you were gone. You're my oldest cousin on my mom's side of the family who lived here in Boston, and you're someone who I could and always did look up to. It was such a shock and, to have two deaths in the family.. this is so hard.
I Love you Lionel Avila [ Chichi ]
you're always in our hearts.

Wow Lionel I just received the news today & I'm still in shock! It had been so long since we last saw eachother! & it sucks to know I'll never see you again. I'll never forget that smile & those times spent in Franklin Hill. I remember my crush for you when I was a little girl, but I was to young & you used to tell me "turn 18 already beautiful" *smiles* & everytime we'll see eachother you always asked me "are you 18 yet?" Lol I will never foget you Lionel..My deepest condolences goes out to the Avila-cooper family. May god rest your soul =[

Lionel,
I only saw you in passing a few times and am so sorry I never really had an opportunity to know you as others did. I have read and heard so many good things about you. My nephews- Kroy, Hank, and Dre, all cherished your friendship. I know they will miss you dearly. My sister (Mums), their mother, refers to you as one of her boys. She loved you dearly.
The last time I saw you was on Easter (2008). You and a friend dropped by Mum's to eat. I remember us leaving the house at the same time. Each time our paths crossed I remember your respectful nature.
I offer peace, love and strength to your family at this time. We do not know God's reasons or actions, however, I pray that your family finds strength in knowing that He would never put more on us than we can bear. It really DOES get a little easier (I speak from personal experience).
I believe we all have a special purpose here on earth and am confident that you fulfilled your mission. So, God decided to take you home to your final resting place. You have earned your wings, now rest- until we all meet again!

You were me an my brothers first friend. Just remembering all the great times we had then. Although we bumped heads a lot growing up, we always had that brotherly/sisterly love for one another. Playing Nintendo and Sega games, spending a nite at your mother and your aunts house. Pretending to be Power Rangers *lol*. That is one thing no one can take away from me, and that's all the memories.
To this day I still don't believe what happen to you is true. You were funny, loving an caring.
This definitely hit too close to home. I been praying since you been gone an I will continue to pray every day after. May you an your family be blessed! Rest In Peace...
Rest in Peace baby boy

I found myself tearing my new apartment apart!! Looking for the pictures of you I stole from your bedroom of you---when I was what, 16??? LOL I never did find them!! But nonetheless, you will never be forgotton, BIG HEAD (smile).
I know how much your family looked up to you. You were their idol. I know that you'll be watching down on them and I will pray every night for them.
"If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I would walk right up to heaven and bring you home again".
Heard that quote for the first time yesterday, and it was so perfectly fitting!!
Rest In Peace my friend

A million times we've needed you,
A million times we've cried.
If love alone could've saved you,
You never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place,
No one else will ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
Part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
R.I.P Lionel...I miss you so much!

IT'S HARD TO EXPRESS THE WAY THAT U FEEL WHEN U LOSE A FRIEND IT NEVER SEEMS REAL .
THEY SAY U NEVER KNOW WHAT U HAVE UNTIL IT'S GONE IN ONLY 7 DAYS AND EVERY THING FEELS WRONG.WHY HIM? BECAUSE THE GOOD DIE YOUNG BUT WITH THE ANGELS IN THE SKY HE WILL ALWAYS BE WATCHING HIS SON. SO REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES WE ALL HAD AND PRAY FOR HIS FAMILY BECAUSE LIONEL WOULD WANT THAT. FOR A GOOD FRIEND LOVED BY MANY WHO IS GONE BUT NOT FORGOTEN...SEE U WHEN I GET THERE...LOVE ALWAYS

In the back of my mind I'm like no way Jose. I still can't believe what happened. I'm sorry that as we grew older our friendship grew apart but I will always hold you and yours close. Carter's park, fireworks, kickball, baseball in the sandbox, the hit you put on me in football...Life is a battlefield and we all get scars...you moving on but I will never forget you...
