Dear Schofield Family,
I am sad to hear of the news of Herb. He was a true gentleman. I remember when I needed to do my service hours for Confirmation, Herb helped to become an usher with him at the 12:30 and later the 9:30 mass. He also inspired me to join the K of C during my college years.
Even up to two weeks ago attending the 12:30, Herb would often ask me to help do the collection. I remember cooking with Herb, and the late Julio Farulla at the Marriage Prep couples dinner at Saint Joe's and also at the annual Bazaar. Those were some good memories!
As a tribute to Herb, at our previous Knights of Columbus meeting in April everyone at the meeting gave Herb a standing ovation when we said prayers for him at the end while he was in attendance. I think that was quite a tribute that I will always remember and I'm sure it meant a lot to him.
Herb's great great personality and friendship will always be remembered. My condolonsces to your family at this time.
Sincerely,
Mike Riley

Dear Mrs Schofield, I was very saddened to hear from Erika Barrett that Herb had passed away. I very much enjoyed his visits to the Infusion Unit, and the talks we would have. He was so very proud of his family and loved you all very much. He fought this disease with grace and courage, and was an ispiration to many other patients. Herb, you did a great job watching out for your Dad..I know he appreciated your help. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely

Dear Mrs. Schofield & Family:
I knew Herb when we were in the Toy Industry/NETRA. He was a good friend & mentor to me back then. He was always confident in who he was - he never got caught up in the politics of the industry. I respected him for that.
I had not seen him for years - but will always remember him for being a good Christian man who spoke lovingly of his family. I was lucky to have known him.
With sympathy for your loss,
Cathy (White) Gallagher

We are stunned and saddened at the loss of your beloved Herb. My mother called me this morning in disbelief to let me know right away. He was the best of neighbors, helped us in times of need for my father with compassion and without thought to himself. Our hearts go out to all of you with love.

Dear Mrs. Schofield & kids,
My heart breaks for you all. I am in total shock at the lose of such a wonderful person. I used to enjoy babysitting for you, and talking with Mr. Schofield when he took me home. He always made sure I got in ok, even though we only lived a few houses down from each other. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.
