We had "Bernie" as our homeroom teacher our sophomore year at Keith Hall, and as our basketball coach. We did our best to torment her during the day, and for a few more hours after school. She had the patience of a saint, could stare you down in a heartbeat, and was capable of holding a position in any challenge we gave her. Bernie had a great sense of humor. In one meeting with my Dad, she suggested that he ask for a refund on my tuition! She was the culmination of kind, caring, and stubborn. To our gang of misfits, she was the best. Her giggle will live on eternally.

Sr. Frances Sears was a teacher of mine at Fontbonne Academy, Milton in the late 70's. As I remember, she was a class favorite and ALWAYS on top of whatever 'stunts' we girls would try to pull!! She was always fair and taught us to be that way as well. God Bless You Sister Frances Sears and thanks for all you taught me!!

My Aunt Frances was a lovely, kind woman. She was one of the most fair, non-judgemental people I've ever known. I'll always remember her little-girl giggle and the walks we used to take after Easter dinner. (She'd tell me the Latin names of all the flowers we'd see!)
She lived her life following the words she ended all her correspondence with: "Lovingly in Christ."
