Charles Govostes Obituary

Of Winchester, April 22, 2008, age 70. Beloved husband of 49 years to Peggy (McHugh) Govostes. Devoted father of Chuck Govostes of Winchester, Stephen Govostes and his wife Terry of Tolland, CT, and Greg Govostes and his wife Mary of Woburn. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Bryan, Lauren and Erin. Father-in-law of Debra Govostes of Winchester and life long friend of Bob Jacobellis of Manchester, N.H. Brother of George J. Govostes of Winchester, David P. Govostes and his wife Mary of Lowell, John P. Govostes of Winchester and the late Bruce M. Govostes and his wife Carol of Nashua, N.H. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St. (Rte. 38) WINCHESTER, Friday, April 25th at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 158 Washington St., Winchester at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. Donations may be made in Charlie's memory to: Perkins School for the Blind, 175 North Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472. Late U. S. Army Vietnam War Veteran. I am so sorry to hear of Charlie's death which happened at way too young an age.

Charlie was a great man with a wonderful personality and sense of humor.

I have not seen Charlie for a long time, but when I worked at I.B. Moore he was always a perfect gentleman. Also I remember he use to love his cruises. I go on one every year and I often think of him.
