There are many things I miss about not having you with us over this past year such as your sense of humor or your knack for gift giving (the kids understand that Grampy has tried very hard in this department but he does not really measure up to your high standards). However, mostly what I miss and long for is your unconditional love. For all of our lives no matter how badly we behaved or how wrong we might have been you were in our corner watching our back. Without you around I now realize how rare a thing it is to have someone so unapologetically defend your loved ones.
I also need to mention that I know you are watching out for us but I don't want you to worry about us. After you passed I was concerned about whether we would be able to survive without you. I know that without you, just as we were before your leaving us, we have been imperfect in our decisions and actions but we are surviving, maybe not thriving but certainly surviving. Over this past year we have often muddled through life's adversities simply with the thought that this is the way you would have wanted it to be done. This approach has not been as fun as it certainly would have been with you around to help us but it has been enough. I believe this is how we try to honor you.

Roberta your brother is so right, time is suppose to heal us when our loved ones leave us but it doesn't. You will always be part of our lives because anyone who knew you knows we lost a truly beautiful person. God Bless you and your family and friends.

I just heard about Roberta and I am so, so sorry.
I loved her and we had some real good times together and she was so much fun. We would talk about our sons all the time and how we could calm them down, ha ha. She would run for me and I would run for her.
I can't believe this.
Your Mother was the Best and she would do anything to help someone.
You all should be so proud to have had such a Beautiful Person in your life and family.
