Dear Judy,
Like the sister you have been to me for over 30 years, so Ed was my brother. Or my father, at times. He was the fuzziest un-fuzzy guy I ever knew. His love poured out in ways only he could show. We will miss him very much, and we are heartbroken for all of you. Our love & prayers to you, Eddie, Sean, Katie, and especially Beth. She will remain in our hearts on her wedding day. God bless you all.
Love, Kathy (DeFeo) Earabino, and all of the DeFeo Family

Eddie, as you know, you, Jack Ryan, "Clutch" and I were the best of pals around the Hemy back in the 50's. We had a lot of good times together and you will be missed by your family and the many friends you made through the years. Keep a seat open at the poker table for Jack and I. Peace, brother.

Dear Judy,
I know we have been away in Thailand for a long time but we arrived back a few weeks ago and had been looking forward to "catching up' with you and Ed. What a shock it was to hear of his death. You two have always been such a vibrant couple and lived life to the fullest. This is the way I will always remember Ed. You have many friends who will help you through this. Please count me among them. My prayers will continue as you walk through this difficult time.

Dear Judy,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your wonderful husband and best friend. Mary Catherine Smith expressed her feelings so well and I am sure we all feel the same way. Ed was the type of person who did good things for people without question; the things that good people and good families do. My heart goes out to you and all the Fitzgerald, Marston, Daly and extended family members and friends who loved Ed. May God Bless you and always know that you have the never ending love, respect and support of those who remember.

Dear Beth,
It is a wonerful thing that you had your Dad as long as you did. God needed his soul to help somewhere else. He most cetainly left his mark on all of your hearts. He never held back in what he thought was right and with that you all gave him great respect and the truest love. He has only passed physically. His parenting and friendship to you will last forever. He will always be "upstairs".
May you and all of your family heal your hearts.
Love,
Chris,John,Carli and Jack

To all the Fitzgeralds,
It is so difficult to know what to say; that we are sorry for your loss seems so inadequate at the moment. We cannot express enough how deeply sad we are for the loss of Ed. I know how much he was adored by all of you and how much in turn, he adored you all. You were lucky to have him and he was lucky to have all of you, too. You all are in our prayers,
Jody, Gary, Danny, Kenzie and Ashlyn

Mr.Fitzgerald...what a guy who was so loved by all of us. I can't even begin to fathom the loss of this big guy. The sadness is so great and unbearable at times. He was family even to his closest friends. I never thought about life without him in it. There are so many wonderful memories of my childhood, young adult, and adult years with the Fitzgerald Family. I loved his loud voice and Bostonian accent. I still picture this big guy, with his hands tucked under opposite armpits. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Wonder how he's remodeling God's house???

Ed, Thank you for being the best friend I had when we were Falcons at the Hemmy. By right, we should have had several hours to talk about those times, but unfortunately you were gone before we had the chance. More than anything else, thank God we went to The City Club on that Friday night in Boston when you met Judy. By the way, I have almost forgiven you for that day on Lake Cochituate when you dragged me through muck, mire, and an underwater jungle of weeds and squishy fishy things as I clung helplessly and desperately to the back of your new boat. Thanks, Admiral Fitz. Remember the day I beat you so bad at miniature golf that you had to sell me your '55 Buick for $25. Nice wheels. How many Friday nights did we walk to The Adams Theater to watch movies no matter how awful they were? Raisinettes anyone? What about nickel-edge behind the bathhouse, halfball, Walter Gill, first and ten, white knuckle rides in your '51 Chevy, Ho Jo's, and sitting on the corner at Ashmont and Adams until early morning light? We should have made a movie, Ed; actually, we did and it's stored in my memory forever -- in technicolor. Thanks again for everything, my friend. Love, Jack.
