To the family of Father Sviokla,
I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to you. I knew Father from St. Thomas' parish in Jamaica Plain. Few people achieved the position of respect and high esteem which he enjoyed in the community.
I'm sure his absence will be felt by many for years to come.
With deepest sympathy,

Jim Walker

"Fr. Ed" (and Fr. Joe Crehan) made me feel so comfortable with the Church when I moved to Everett. I had a good, long talk with Fr. Ed once and will never forget it. He was loving and kind and accepted me as I was, which was very healing for me. I remember he liked to play golf, and I'm sure he is up there getting a hole in one every time. He was the best! : )
