Edward Anton May Jr.

Age 80, of Lexington, June 1, 2008. Beloved husband of 55 years of Lois (Bartlett) May. Loving father of Sharon and David Mrakovich, Edward H. "Harry" and Ellen May, Stephen D. May, and the late John Joseph. Loving grandfather to Jamie Ann and Michael May, Joshua Kidd, Elena May, Samuel Mrakovich, Elissa May; and 5 greatgrandchildren. Beloved brother of Barbara (May) Shaw and J. Joseph May. Uncle to 9 nieces and nephews. Ed grew up in Somerville and Arlington. As a young man Ed sailed the seas around the world in the Merchant Marines. He served in the U.S. Army in both WWII and Korea. He also served in the Coast Guard. He was a photoengraver at the Wright Co. in Cambridge for 25 years and retired from the Boston Globe in 1993. He was very well loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Saturday June 14 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
