I was very sad to hear of Ellen's death. I have many good memories of her and her family as I grew up on BI every summer. She and my Mother were great friends and she was a comfort to me when my Mother died. I won't forget her.Jane Sullivan

A very sad time for you all. Your mother fought a hard battle. She was a lovely warm generous smart lady. She is a great example how to live a life well. I have such wonderful memories of your Mom - from college days to Block Island visits.

I have never meet a more wonderful or generous person. Mrs. O'Brien ( I always had a hard time switching to Ellen) always knew how to make you feel good. Compliments and genuine love flowed freely and she will be deeply missed.

Ellen's courage,deep Faith and spirit will remain with us forever. As will her laughter
and her generous sharing of her love of Block Island and West Roxbury. We grieve her death with her children and grand-children whose devotion to her was so deep.
