Dear Tema, Andy & Stuart,
I was so saddened to hear of Dr. Cushner's passing. I have so many fond memories of him, and all of you at the Maine camp. As I had the priviledge of knowing Dr. Cushner some forty years, and working with him for over 11 years as one of his Dental Assistants, I always felt like one of his family. I will never forget the caring, thoughtful and generous way he treated all that came into his world. He was a truly great man, and will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. My sincerest sympathy to you all. Love, Joanne Moses

Dear Mrs. Cushner, Andy and Stuart..
It was with great sadness that I read of the news of Dr. Cushner's passing. My memories of him, and all of you, go back to my days at Devotion School with Andy and the many afternoons and evenings I spent at your home. Dr. Cushner was always warm and kind and generous and I have never forgotten the way in which he always made me feel comfortable and welcome. He always seemed to put up with our shenanigans with a smile, and, given the cast of characters that congregated there, that was a considerable feat. I never saw him angry, never heard him raise his voice but he always had a quiet way of letting us know that we had gone as far as he was going to allow. I admired and respected him and regarded him as someone to emulate. My thoughts and my prayers are with you and may Dr. Cushner rest in peace.

I wanted to pass along my sympathies. Dr. Cushner "straightened me out", and I have known Andy well from Camp Manitou.
Best wishes

Although it has been many years, Dr. Cushner was the greatest to work for. He was kind, great with his patients, funny and as sweet as can be. He will always be remembered fondly. My sympathies and prayers are with you Tema and your family

Andy and Stuart and family,
I have very fond memories of your father beginning from the first time met him, and he magically taught me to stop sucking my thumb! That was about 50 years ago, and through the years since my braces were removed, I have thought of him often while working with Andy, and more recently when I met Stuart at an S.Y.M. meeting. Your dad was a very unique man who touched many lives, and left this world a better place.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Lenny's passing. I worked along side him for many years and he shared so much of his knowledge with me and I could always count on his support during my life as a young adult in the big city. He will be missed so very much since he touched so many peoples hearts. Our love and prayers are sent to all of his family.

As a young girl, my teeth were incredibly crooked and in need of help. Coming from a lower middle class family without dental insurance, the cost of orthodontia was pretty much beyond the financial grasp of my hardworking parents. Dr. Cushner told my mother to pay what should could, when she could, no matter how long it took. She promised she would pay him every cent and, in time, she did. He had said that what was important was that such a pretty girl should have a pretty smile. My course of treatment lasted more than 4 years, and produced a beautiful smile that changed my life. When my own daughter was in need of orthontia in her teens, it was Dr. Cushner I brought her to see. He was the man who gave this mother and daughter their smiles. Today I am 54 and my daughter is 32. I have never forgotten him. I remember him as a kind, gentle and humorous man, who cared about people. His generosity enriched and changed my life. I wish him peace, and my greatest condolences to his family for their loss.

My deepest sympathy to you & your family on the loss of a great person. When I started with my son Stuart, he told me that we were the highest paid customer in his practice. It was always a pleasure going to his friendly office which made us feel so
comfortable with his great personality. When Stuart was attending camp Manitou, Lenny always invited him to his home.
May God Bless you all & kepp you well.
Fondly,
Barbara Litel

I worked as a dental assitant many years ago with Dr Sousey downstairs from Dr Cushner's office. I have nice memories of a fun, outgoing and down to earth guy. We spent many lunch hours together at Langleys Deli! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I am sure he will be missed by all.

It is most difficult to tell you how deeply Ellen and I feel about the passing of Len. What started when I was 11 years old in 1953, as patient #79 for orthodontic treatment, a lifelong friendship of 55 years ensued. It was a privilege to have known him so well, and I will never forget him.
With great personal sorrow, Ellen and I ask to share your loss and extend our heartfelt sympathy to the entire family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
With love and affection,
Bernie and Ellen Grossman
