Florence Jamieson Obituary

Born in Boston, July 29, 1912, formerly of Woburn, Quincy, Arlington Heights and South Boston, on June 18. Predeceased by her husband, George (d. 1999). Floss, as we all knew her, leaves three sons and their wives, John and Qun of Shanghai, China, George and Kristyn of New London, NH and Robert and Susan of Sarasota, FL and Woburn, MA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her clear moral values blended with a self-effacing, generous and warm hearted nature won her love and respect. Her family and friends are thankful for her long life. A Service in her memory will be held at the Quincy Point Congregational Church on July 7 at 10 AM; family and friends are warmly welcome. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be directed to the George and Florence R. Jamieson Scholarship Fund, Northeastern University, 360 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02115, Attn: James T. Madigan or to the Quincy Point Congregational Church, with memo to the Jamieson Scholarship Fund (established by the Jamieson sons to help needy and deserving students with college or university expenses), 444 Washington St. Quincy, MA 02169. Many pleasant memories of Floss in my teen years, wonderful woman. Floss and my mother always chatted at Hoffmans newsstand in the Heights. My mother and Floss were both one of a kind, loved their family.
