A lot of my memories of this lovely woman are around food. She was always trying to get Elizabeth to eat more and I always liked everything she made. I also remember her teaching us to dance a traditional dance and it was so interesting to see her culture.

Dear Elizabeth: It is so strange. I had a dream about you last night and I thought I would try to find you on the internet. I saw that your mother has recently passed. You and your mother will be in my prayers. I have many great memories of playing with you as a child and the great food your mother would make for us.

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved mother, Sahda. Unforturnately, I did not hear about her passing until after her wake and funeral. If I knew, I would been there to pay my respects.

Dearest Cousin Liz,
I'm so sad to hear this news, and you and Sahda have our prayers. She was a wonderful person and the only consolation I have is that she has now rejoined her husband Billy, with my father Joseph, with Aunt Olga and with Celia Eblan. That is one Hafleh that I wish I could attend.
In Celia's words: hallili yehak - leave me your heart. Now I understand.

As a young girl, I can remember going to the aunt's house with my dad, Michael. Sahda would sometimes be there. She spoke only Arabic. Of course I didn't understand a word she said, but she would be speaking to someone in the room, look at me and say Gracie! I knew then, she was talking about me. All of my father's reletives called me little Gracie, because I looked so much like my grandmother. This is what I remember most from Sahda. May you rest in peace,
